Online Golf Management Courses Start Nov. 1, 2012

Golf in Canada is an $11 billion industry employing almost 350,000 people. It’s a big industry that needs well trained managers. That’s where Selkirk College comes in with its 10-course Golf Club Operations Online (GCOOL) Certificate Program. All courses can be completed 100% online and in the off season.

More than 200 people have taken Selkirk’s online courses over the past eight semesters and the primary reasons for course takers is that they wish to boost day-to-day work performance and improve qualifications to enhance future promotion opportunities. See details on the courses further along in this email.

Selkirk College GCOOL Testimonials

"Thank you very much for the very helpful and informative Human Resources for Club Managers course.  Your feedback has helped, and I am currently trying to implement a lot of what I learned. I am also finishing the Food and Beverage course and trying to implement a lot of that information as well. As with any family business, there are large obstacles, but I know that the knowledge I have gained with the GCOOL courses so far can do nothing but help."

Jason Munroe, Operations Manager, River Oaks Golf Course

There are two flights of courses in the off season: Nov. 1, 2012 and Feb. 1, 2013

Online registrants have 12 weeks to complete 10 course modules. Take one course or as many as time allows; some people take one, some take five. (The time requirement to do readings and assignments for each course is about 5-7 hours per week.) Completion citations are sent for each successful course completion, and a certificate is awarded to those who finish all 10 in the Program.
